There is some research to support a "carb refeed" for those who have insulin sensitivity dialled in, and who perform high intensity exercise on a regular basis. But calling an ice cream binge a "cheat day..." well there's just so much wrong with that. Can we have some real talk for a minute? Like, when I overserve myself on the red wine on a Saturday night, and feel a little like dying on Sunday, that's not a cheat day; that's a few bad decisions for which I'm paying the price.
I guess you can call your junk food binges whatever you want, but you won't catch me hiding my poor nutrition and lifestyle choices under some kind of "Cheat Meal" security blanket.
